ศ.ดร.อุทุมพร จามรมาน ผอ.สถาบันทดสอบทางการศึกษาแห่งชาติ (สทศ.) เปิดเผยว่า จากการรับสมัครแบบวัดความถนัดทั่วไป หรือ GAT และแบบวัดความถนัดทางวิชาชีพ/วิชาการ หรือ PAT ครั้งที่ 2/2553 ตั้งแต่วันที่ 1-25 พ.ค.นั้น ขณะนี้มีนักเรียนสมัครและชำระเงินแล้วประมาณ 80,000 คน ส่วนนักเรียนที่สมัครแต่ยังไม่ชำระเงินประมาณ 200,000 คน ในจำนวนนี้มีนักเรียน ม.5 ที่มาสมัครและชำระเงินแล้วจำนวน 1,870 คน และสมัครแล้วแต่ยังไม่ชำระเงินอีกประมาณ 14,000 คน ซึ่งขอย้ำว่านักเรียน ม.5 ไม่ควรสมัครสอบ GAT/PAT เพราะที่ประชุมอธิการบดีแห่งประเทศไทย (ทปอ.) มีมติให้นักเรียน ม.6 เท่านั้น กรณีนักเรียน ม.5 ที่สมัครสอบและอาจจะนำผลสอบไปใช้แอดมิชชั่นในปีการศึกษา 2555 นั้น ได้หารือกับ รศ.ดร.มณฑล สงวนเสริมศรี ประธานคณะทำงานศึกษาระบบคัดเลือกบุคคลเข้าสถาบันอุดมศึกษา ในระบบแอดมิชชั่นแล้ว เบื้องต้นเห็นตรงกันว่าถ้าเด็กนำคะแนนดังกล่าวมาใช้เด็กจะเสียสิทธิในการพิจารณาแอดมิชชั่นกลาง โดยจะนำเรื่องเข้าหารือใน ทปอ.เพื่อตัดสินใจ.
